About

Well-crafted music and lyrics, flawless harmonies, intricate instrumentation, and original storytelling

A.T. and Lauren Cason are lifelong musicians who perform original American folk and blues songs that harken back to the roots music of the American South as well as the 1960s Folk Revival artists of NYC’s Greenwich Village. It’s Simon & Garfunkel mixed with early Dylan, with a touch of Leonard Cohen and a helping of true Piedmont blues fingerstyle guitar from North Carolina.

“What will stick with you are the stories…you look forward to the next tune like you do the next chapter of a book.  One you don’t want to put down.” – WNC Original Music Podcast, US

In the Old Kingdom

Songs of the folk's new full-length album - Available April 15

Recorded in a centuries old church and a converted barn in the English village of Woodham Walter, this album will transport the listener to another place. Using a vintage reel to reel, the recording captures an entrancing live sound while still maintaining a modern polish, thanks to the mixing and mastering efforts of Yannick Burklin. Including songs written from 2018 up to 2025, In the Old Kingdom explores themes of self-discovery, searching for one's place in the world, and finding hope in the midst of hardship. In addition to the duo's usual outstanding fingerstyle guitar and warm, intricate vocal harmonies, the album features field recordings of English church bells, a pipe organ, birdsong, windchimes, and goat bells from a hike in Switzerland. These songs are subtle but lasting with a full journey from start to finish from loneliness to love.
